An Invitation to Support the Future Businesses of our Region

This June, we have the Little Entrepreneurs Market, and we are very excited for our second event. This will be a space to support children and youth entrepreneurs who are learning early that a small idea can grow when it has creativity, effort, and community around it.

You can review the official event information here: Little Entrepreneurs Market 2026

Why does this Market Matter?

Because a business does not grow only because someone has a good idea. It grows when that idea meets real people. When someone walks up to a table, asks a question, buys a product, shares an opinion, or tells others about the event, that young entrepreneur learns something valuable. That is more than selling. That is learning how the real world works.

The Community Completes the Cycle

In our previous article, we talked about how big ideas often start small. Now comes the other part: the community helps those ideas grow. Children create. Families support. The community visits, asks questions, buys, recommends, and gives feedback. That cycle is powerful, because the more we support these first steps, the more confidence, creativity, and future solutions we may see in our region. Today it may be a small table. Tomorrow it may become a business, a service, or an idea that helps our community.

Support does not always mean spending a lot

You do not have to buy something from every table to show support.

You can also:

  • attend the event

  • bring your family

  • invite a friend

  • ask questions

  • share a photo

  • follow Latin Voices

  • recommend the event

  • tell a child: “That is a great idea, keep going”

Sometimes, one conversation can be just as meaningful as a sale.

The event will also include live youth performances, interactive activities, and family-friendly entertainment. This June, let’s make the Little Entrepreneurs Market more than just a weekend outing.

Let’s make it an opportunity to support those who are starting, discover local talent, and remind our children and youth that their ideas have a place in the Okanagan. Because when children create, families support, and the community shows up, we all win.

See you there, community!
